What is this?

My brother came today and had this with him. He bought it from the LFS because he thought it was cool. LFS didn't know what is was but was happy to charge $10 for it

The thing moves and can stick to windows. Is this reef/fish safe?

Its an Urchin .... As far as I know they are reef safe. They eat lots algae but the down side is they can knock over corals.

I'd try to find a new LFS if they do not know what an urchin is. Just a thought.

urchins are not reef safe if they can get their mouth on it theyll eat it

I've heard there are reef safe urchins dunno if this is one or not and I would never chance one in a reef... but wow.. how could a lfs not know what an urchin is?

Go back and ask can I have a nemo tank in a 20 gal.? Then

because they will have them and be ready to bag them.
Tell your brother to be very careful there.
