I am a steak fanatic!!! Me, my wife, and dad talked about this the other day. My absolute favorite is a big ribeye, lots of fat, juicy, best flavor. My dad feels the same way.
I eat mine medium rare, my dad medium.
My wife swears that a filet mignon is the best, very tender, and really expensive, eats hers medium well. (steaks an overpriced burger in my opinion anything over medium)
Give your fave cut, and doneness

I love steak too, though I know we Americans should eat a lot less red meat than we do, I really love it. Any is good, but I tend to go for NY strip mostly. Porterhouse is good too. Grilled, sautéed mushrooms and onions....

Filet Mignon medium or medium rare depending on which restaurant we go to. Hubby likes New York Strip or Ribeye, cooked the same as mine.

You will eventually get the taste of it. I didn't like hardly any meat at 14.

IMO theres no better taste than biting into a huge, broiled ribeye thats got just a slight char, with a juicy red center.
With a HUGE side of au gratin potatoes!!!!!!

Every semester i go out and buy a nice big ribeye the night before my last day of finals, so when i come home from my last final, i mega treat myself with the above mentioned food!!!
just 8 days till im done for the semester.

OK, so I saw a show on Good Eats about how you can buy the entire filet at Costco. You have to do some trimming and cutting but you get an about 10 servings of filet mignon and a roast for about $60.

Yep, and you can keep the trimmings and make some incredible homemade hamburger meat. You can also buy the prime rib roast and trim your own ribeyes. Little more work, but well worth it. My only problem is that i never need 10 cuts of steak at one time. And i have a thing against freezing quality meat, it ruins the flavor.

Well thank goodness I can't tell the difference if it has been frozen. A little salt and pepper and throw it on the Barbecue and it is good to go!

I love prime rib, but my absolute favorite is exactly how you described your ribeye alexmir...only topped with a nice amount of garlic salt.
I gotta be the the only person on the planet who doesn't like filet. Tastes like hamburger to me.
And yes, I've had it "cooked right", lol... I have heard by EVERYBODY, "If you don't like it then you never had it done right"... I tried it and tried it and tried it... not my thing.

indeed...

and dont waste any room on my plate with the fillers... maybe a fully loaded baked potato or a green salad every now and then... but for the most part that stuff just gets in the way...
