What kind of Anemone? 1st Post

I've had my 55 gallon up for a while and am loving it. I got my first Anemone today but my LFS was not sure what kind it was. After looking online at them, I thought I would just post a few pics and see what you all think.

Here are my two clowns (not exactly sure what kind they are) it's been a few hours and these pics are when the anemone started to open up. He is still where I placed him.

I also got a 2" tiny lunar wrasse today. Hes a little longer than the clowns but still tiny. I hope he will not cause to much trouble. He wouldent come out for any pics. But my last question is, whats the best way to position the power heads? As you can see in this pic, they are on each side of the tank. I had them going towards eachother but they made lots of bubbles under water.

Sorry for the newb questions, and the bad pictures. It looks like most on this site dont like much rock if it's not live but ah well.

Looks like a bubble tip to me.
Your clown fish look like ocellaris to me.
Shame on you as well. From here on out please research what you buy first so that you know how to care for it before it gets in your tank.

At the LFS they had no clue what kind it was. They said it did not come on the package. When I purchased the anemone it was very small but somewhat open. Last night it was in the spot where the pictures are. Now this morning, I can't even find it?

Try to return the anemone until you are ready to care for it. Currently your lighting is no where near what it needs. They also will not do well in new tanks... anemones are VERY delicate and need extremely stable conditions... do a LOT of research before getting any more.
That is a beautiful bubble tip!!! it looks very healthy right now.

My tank has been up for about a year. The reason i got my lighting is because another fish shop said the Coralife lights worked very well with anemones. From some pics I thought it looked like a bubble tip, but not from the inverts part of the site.
The anenome was abut 1 inch the few days I went to look at it at the LFS then once I got it home in my tank after a few hours it opened up to what you see in the pics. Last night in the dark it started to rome around, and now is hiding somewhere. My tank water is in great shape and I have never had any problems with water quality other than some high nitrates at one time.
Any helpe besides take it back (tanks been up for a year, and have high lights) would be great.

Ok, here's some advice w/o the take it back...
Get NEW lighting. The Coralife Fixture you have is a Normal Output T5 System that at best has 2-28w fluorescent tubes. This is NOT enough lighting for a Bubble Tip Anemone.
I’m just trying to help…
btw, your tank is really clean for being set up for a year... how do you keep it that clean??

I have two of the Corallife T5's for right now. The bulbs are very thin, one daylight and one blue. I still can not seem to find the anemone. I'm guessing that is not a good sign. Over night it went and hid somewhere.
For the tank looking the way it does.....my light timer must have broke, and the light was staying on a lot more than 12 hours. Green hair algea formed all over everything. My LFS said I can take out the rocks and scrub them, so i spent 3 hours doing that, thinking this can't be a good idea. Getting ride of good bacteria as well.
As for the wrasse, he is out much more today, swimming with my clowns. He goes just about wherever they go, and swims with them, but has not seemed to bother them yet. He has the lunatic swimming personality at times. I'm hoping with him growing up the same size of the clowns they may be better off together.

Bubble tip-needs good lighting -he needs to be fed daily -- silversides daily --until he does not look bleached...... :happyfish

Yeah, it's kinda tough to feed him when he is still hiding. My clowns have not hosted him. The anemone is under the live rock in the middle of the tank. he looks to be pretty open under/on the side of the rock facing down twords the sand. I'm not sure if maybe my powerheads are making the water flow to strong or what.

How should I feed him if he is still under the same rock. He is still opened up, and looking good from what I can see. I hope my flow is not to much for him. I'm not sure how I should position the powerheads.

He will move where he likes. If you can reach him try and spot feed him some mysis or small pieces of silversides. Google "Bubble tip anemone" there are some really good information sites.

Get a syringe and get some Coralife Invert Gumbo for Coral and Inverts. Place the Syringe lightly into its mouth and very slowly squeeze 1/2 to 1 oz into the anemone. Keep doing small amounts daily til it starts showing color.
If I saw right watch the Chocolate Chip Sea Star, mine ate my bubble tip.
