What kind of freakish fish is THAT?

My cousin has a 30gallon tank setup and catches random little fish and crabs outside his house. He has a new fish which he calls a "Saltwater suckerfish" but it is the weirdest thing, and I'm trying to find out what it is. It is shaped almost like a freshwater "hillstream loach" but his saltwater "blob" is shaped like a teardrop, and is a little different. It clings onto the glass, and cleans off the algae growth.
Anyone know what the heck it could be? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I know the ones your talking about. I used to catch them as a kid and kept a few. I don't think they actually ate algae though. The sucker was on the bottom of the fish below the mouth. Not like a Plecostomus. Big rounded head like you said "teardrop" or tadpole shaped almost. Dark brown.

Where were you people a hundred years ago, when somebody was asking about a fish that looked and acted like a pleco, but it was for saltwater.

I'm sure the OP of that question is gone by now, but I never let the question rest in my mind, lol.
