what kind of hard coral is this?

its obviously a hard coral, but thats about all i know about it. the guy at the lfs said they like alot of light and that they are really easy to keep.... so far, its done well in my tank, and it has sweepers, not too aggressive though, the sweepers are small and thin, nothing like a frogspawn sweeper. it also looks like it is covered in fur if you cant tell by the pics

Are those the scientific names or the common names? it definately looks like a pavona. Now I have a direction to look for more info on it, so thank you! By the looks of the pix, it shouldnt be laying on its side like how I have it correct? Should it be wedged in a rock and come out horizontal like a montipora or be vertical like a sea fan?

I don't know much about them just that I have seen them before. I think it looks fine as you have it and it will grow into proper form in time.
