What kind of Lights/Filters/Powerheads for a 50gal FO??

Just wondering what kinda lights would a good lighting setup for a the 50gal fo tank i am putting together and also what kinda hangon wet/dry filter is a good one. Also what company makes the most silent powerhead. Thanx :D

Ok, IMO lighting and filtration will vary depending on several issues. The first thing I would consider is "what are you trying to keep"...ie... a fish only system will require a lot less lighting than if you are Planning a reef. Really, the same kinda holds true for the filter system.
Could you give us a little more info? such as will this be fish only??

oh ya sure sorry about that :eek:
i plan on doing a fish only tank with a pair of clowns (not sure what kind yet), a sixline wrasse, some sort of Gobey, and then the a cleaning crew for my size of tank. I am also debating weather or not i should get live rock.

if you happen to get a manderin gobey you will definately need live rock which, in turn, needs more light than dead rock. i would not add a manderin untill your tank is matured with lotsa life for the manderine to pick at since they live mostly off the live rock. lighting wise i would stick with the old formula 3-5w per gal.
