Reef Crystals but I'm wondering if it has any benefit over Instant Ocean.
Heres a link I found recently that has an indepth review or all the major salts.

Mods. I don't believe that it sells anything, appears to just be an electronic newsletter.

Doesn't sell anything. HA. The S-15 report sells itself and the salt made by the people who are giving you the report. Sort of a one sided report. Problem is no one has really done any other studies since then. I'm not calling it completely faulse, as there are several salts that I can agree on from personal experience.
I will warn you about this. Any salt can have problems. Any production line can have screw ups. It is an awful thing to have your trusted salt nearly wipe out your tank.
If you make a water change and you see nothing but a cloudy mess in your mixing container then I would test the water change before use.
If your salt works for you then all is well. If your salt seems to be lacking then you should think about finding another one and see if you can get better results.
Instant Ocean is a great salt, has been for years, but I have recently stumbled on a bad batch. The company and I are now having an extended talk.
For those who use Instant Ocean, most of you aready know that it mixes and clears really soon. After mixing it should be clear in just a few minutes. IF IT DOES NOT CLEAR in a few minutes then I would test it before use. If it FOAMS up on the surface then I would test before use.
If any salt you mix does these things then it should be suspect, and tested before you transfer it to the main tank.
Thats all I got to say about that

I use Red Sea. I think that brand is good.
I was surprised to see it ranks above Instant Ocean, however. What do all you IO fans think of that?

Crystal Sea.
That S-15 report is a poor excuse for indirect advertising...but none the less...it is advertisement...as was mentioned...pretty much one sided to their own product...
That Ron Schmuck (or whatever) guy did an independent study on the various salts centerd around marine life embryo's...he doesn't make salt I do not think...so his report should be pretty unbiased...
Been using the Crystal Sea for over a year now...been satisfied with it...

Thomas, what happened to your tank with the bad batch? Or did you catch it in time? Sorry, was a 4am google search, didn't look it over well enough.

Test for the normal things Thomas??? I would have NEVER thought to look for something like that....I just took it for granted that the salt would be ok every time. I would hate to think what would happen if 80tons of bad instant ocean went to an aquarium.....

isnt this interesting. If you scroll down the main page and read the "Facts About (differant brands of saltwater)" pages, you will find that some of the products wern't even tested like the others. Specifically IO.
I really dont know much about saltwater makeup yet. I just went with what my LFS suggested. I know I know, I will probably be making a change.
I assume that differant salt works for diferant people because of the makeup of the water that they use. but I could be wrong. Correct me if I am!

Instant Ocean. I have used Kent's Red Sea Salt as well, and it was good, but I prefer IO.

I use Instant Ocean and Reef Crystals, and I alternate between the two. One water change with IO then the next with --. I figure that the different makeup of the two salts will provide the elements needed.....
Maybe I am over-thinking this whole thing.....
