some peeps like the coralife superskimmers. I like my proclear aquatics it's taken some tampering with but it seems to do a good job.

ETSS or MRC---the reef devil etss would be good for your tank or the mrc mr1
either one is way better than the coralifes and remora's and so on. Those two brands are a couple steps above the others.
If you want to go cheaper--search aquaeuro skimmers. they are new and very inexpensive, and are getting very good reviews.
I still favor the etss for price and performance combined. The mrc's are a little too much for me

Don';t ya have to have like a mag 24 or something for that one??? Are you getting the dual injector or single. you are my hero...iwanted the mr2.....just too much money with the pump. I am getting all the stuff together to build a beckett skimmer DIY---should cost around $50 not inlcuding the pump, but I have a mag9.5 just laying here so I will use it on it.

yes Im getting the duel bekket recirculating MR 3. I think my pumps are gonna be a mag 7 feed pump and a blueline recrc. pump

I know what you mean about fiddling with the proclear skimmer. Seems to do a good job now, and the skim is so thick, it pops the little blue lid right off of the skimmer (had to weight it with a piece of a brick). I couldn't get the venturi to pull air, so I had to add an air pump.

With the my reef skimmers, once you pin point the skimmer you can pretty much have them skim out a consistancy of reef mud and it will gage a maggot.

I had the same skimmer. Needed constant adjusting. What a pain. Went with a Remora for my 55. Love it! Does the job without all that adjusting.
