What kind of starfish and inverts should I stick in my tank.

So, I've started setting up a new tank. What kind of inverts should I put in there. I definately want some sort of starfish. But I have no clue what. I also want to put several decorative shrimp in there. I've gotta make up for keeping a puffer in the last tank. Although I don't know much about their compatibility with eachother. My wishlist includes.
Harlequin shrimp pair,
Fire shrimp
a sexy shrimp
Racing stripe cleaner shrimp too.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It would help immensely if we knew what size tank and what type of tank you are doing....reef, FO, FOWLr, etc.

I would let the tank get stable for a little bit but I have a serpent star and love him. they do not need all the LR like others. Just feed him now and then and he will eat left overs. Everyone that comes over says hes creepy and looks like an octo but I love him. You can get them in some really neat colors too. They are just harder to find in brighter colors.

You will probably want some snails or crabs to do some tank cleaning. If you look on the sales part of this site they sell pre-arranged clean up crews. Be careful about mixing snails and crabs though because a lot of crabs will eat snails.

Orange Linkia's are very nice, But if you have any Damsels, watch out for the Blue Devil Damsel! Mine ripped my star and then the hermits finished it off by the time I left and came home from work one day.Not to mention he also took out 2-pink and white dwarf feather dusters! hope this helps!

Do you still have your basket star?? I would like to know some of the care required to have one of those. Sorry to jack the thread.....

Yes,Ive still got him.Don't know why that damsel does't bother him! But that's good.
Of course they only stretch out or open up after the lights are off! You do need to feed them quite often,I feed mine every night, sometimes every other night when I'm lazy, but he's pretty cool in my book.Just wish he was one that moved around during the light hours!
