Literally bumped his nose into our sliding glass door window!
Hubby freaked out! He's askeered of snakes. I ran out with my camera and my aquatongs!
He tried to eat them, but I was trying to catch him. Slick dog got away, but not before I got some pics, lol.

Awe man! Ya mean I wrestled a harmless garter? He was very long though, that should count for something!
So what's the deal, do these guys not have teeth, or they do just no poison? He was trying to EAT ME!!

they have teeth and do bite but are harmless they dont have poison glands. Its best to treat all snakes as if they were poisonous though.

yea they wont hurt you even if they bite. I have been bit plenty times by them and it just feels like a pinch. Like putting your finger in a close pin.

HAHAHA!!
Lovethesea, I KNEW you'd have something to say, lol.
The bold print caught me off guard though. The whole house looked at me like I was nuts when I started laughing out loud!
And just for the record, I think it coulda eaten me alive.
Let's not downplay the simple fact that I RESCUED MY ENTIRE FAMILY form certain death!!

Now that I think about it, I think I did see the flared neck skin.
Yeah, it was prolly a cobra!

The only thing I have found that doesn't agree with a rat snake is the color if the iris. I copied this from a "Florida snake" sight...
Description: Average adult size is 40-70 inches (101.6-177.8 cm), record is 90 inches (228.6 cm). Adults are yellow to olive-tan with 4 brown to black longitudinal stripes. The belly is pale yellow. The tongue is mostly black. The iris is yellowish.
The tongue was black as the descriptions says, but the eyes...

Cowfish, If I catch him, I'll send him to you.
I'll even throw in a pack of bacon.

Just an idea, but my python's eyes turn cloudy before he sheds. Maybe that would explain the eye color?
