it was only recently that the Barrier reef started asking me if I needed help! I was there and dropped like 200$ one day and the lady acted like I was doing her a favor...I told her she was very Rude....People like that are why I moved from Boca!! All in all, its not too bad of a store. The best place I have found though is Exotic Aquatic. The owner isr really great...a marine biologist. Whatever you want, they'll order it for you. Thats pretty much the only place I buy fish now. Once in a while I'll buy something odd ball that they have at Big Als only b/c of the large size and selection. Anyone else have any imput

Lets see... Off of 19 in Springhill there is pet paradise, then further down 19 to the north is a place called Get tanked
Then in Holiday on 19 there is one off Darlington road.. forget the name of it.
Main Street in Dunedin has Exotic Aquatics.
On Ridge Road in New Port Richey there is Bobs Feathered Friends.
On 19 in New Port Richey they have a Fosters Exotic Pets.
Also on 19 in New Port Richey in the Outback shopping center 'Mini Reef'.
Last but not least - my absolute favorite.. the people there know my whole family, call me by name, give good advice, have been wrong sometimes.. but it happens, and best of all... insanely low prices on livestock - Aquatic Visions which is off of Ridge Road.
If you plan on going to any of these and need exact directions.. just lemme know

speg...do you know any good lfs in tampa/brandon? (springhill and new port richie are sorta close to me) the only one in brandon i know of is aquarium creations...it always seems like their fish have ich or are in the process of dying. I know there are a few in tampa but i've never been to any of them. h*

I've never been to Brandon, but the only one i've visited in Tampa is the Marine Aquarium Warehouse off of Hillsborough Ave. It has some really fantastic show tanks... and a lot of to choose from.. and stuff that people dont see every day.. but the prices are out of this world.

That is actually the same guy who sells stuff on ----! I got some great liverock from him for 2.50 a pound...good quality too....nice guy...pretty cheap prices....and if u find it somewhere else cheaper he said he'd match it....I haven't bought anything from there yet but I start working out that way soon so I'll have more of a chance to stop in and look around....

Barrier reef blows i have had so many problems at that place. THEY SOLD ME A STAND ONE DAY...THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO PICK IT UP AND THEY SOLD IT. IT WAS NOT EVEN 12HRS LATER. THE ONLY BLACK STAND THEY HAD. THEN THEY WOULD NOT EVEN DISCOUNT THE NEXT ONE THEY TRIED TO SELL ME WHICH WAS TAN. THEY ARE ALL RUDE. I SPENT $2000.00 THERE AND $600.00 ON HALIDES. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN RETURN THEM AFTER 2DAYS WHEN ONE STARTED MAKING SCARY NOISES. THEY WILL NEVER RETURN NOTHIN. I tell ya BIG ALS will return anything including fish that are not compatable. Plus you get a YEAR warrenty on any electrical products. No one beats that!!!!! Plus they price match plus 5%. Its the new generation of customer service in the hobby. Also FISH EMPIRE in Coral Springs. They are awesome...and the have the best water. EXOTIC AQUATIC will rob you blind. Evertime I go in there they try to raise prices on me right whan I am having it bagged up. Plus they try to sell Damsels for $7.00. Coral Seas Pets is a good place. They are honest with you.

I agree with you about Barrier reef. They sold my friend a seahorse and refused to show him if it would eat or not...stupid him for buying it...he got it home it refused to eat for 3 days so he tried to bring it back for credit and they refused...so they took the seahorse put it in the tank with the others and said it ate for them but they couldn't give it back to him now! LOL>...so they took his 40$ seahorse back and gave him NOTHING!
I have NEVER had any problems with exotic Aquatic...but I only deal with the owner. Names Rob...talk to him if you go there...There is a young guy there who is clueless! so just deal with Rob if you do go...and I have NEVER seen a damsel for 7$ there unless its a different one! the only one I ever seen anymore then 4$ is the orange ones at the barrier reef!!
