i have the hood that came with the tank its just a normal aqarium hood, can i justr buy a bulb to put into this hood or do i have to go out and buy a whole new hood? and if so how much do you think this would all cost?
get a whole new lighting system those regular flourescents are pretty much useless for reef tanks.
you can find pricing online I havent bought a light set up that small in a long time and prices change too much. I would say probably less than 200$
Hagen has a line called "glo" that are 2x24w T5 HOand are fairly inexspensive.I paid round $100 Canadian for the 24" model.Bulbs available are 18000k, 6400k, and actinic.The longer models are higher in wattage. I'm running two over my 20g.
zoo's dont need alot of light to live because they are very adaptable however if you really want zoo's to spread and cover a rock they really do best under more intense light.
