ouch, I don't have that kind of money for lights. Right now, on my 29g reef, I have a Reef Sun bulb. It has been great with the corals I have. I was wondering if I should just stick with these. I know they are cheap, but they get the job done.

google odyssea power compacts...or odyssea metal halide. depending on what type of lighting you are looking for

I have to laugh at the picture, sorry. I know it is the exposure and all, but it looks like you are powering the sun in that thing!!! You should be good to keep what you want with you two 2million watt sun lights.

Don't buy the Jebo or Odyssea compact flourescent lights. Search on the big auction site for the seller aquariumlights. They sell a 4 x 65 watt compact light that looks just like a Coralife fixture and the Coralife legs fit it. Its only $125 plus $27 shipping. I tried the cheaper ones and they are no comparision.

any 2x150 MH will rock that tank.
Also not nitpicking, but might think about a different salt. The ***** special stuff always seems to lack....

Those are Catalina brand. Plus what i see cost no less then any of the other PC light fixtures.
There is nothing wrong with the Odyssea light. I have the 48" 760w MH light and its a nice light. Works great. I am guessing either you are one of the ones to fall into the OMG it will burn your house down..Cause thats what someone said. Or you had one of their OLD lights.

just get 4x65 watt PC and you should be able to keep all softies. thats what i had on my 75 gallon. i doubt the lights you have on your 29 will work cuz the 55 is deeper. if its not, then sure.
PS, a lot of people will say to get halides or T-5, but if you only plan on keeping softies, then go with PC

sounds like it...the SAME light at Aquatraders for the 4x65 48" is 99bucks
I paid 359shipped for my 48" 2x250MH and 4x65w combo light they want like 560 or something

I had a 4 x 55 watt Jebo compact fixture, it didn't burn my house down but I think the quality was not as good as the Catalina fixture I got to replace it when a ballast crapped out. Also the Jebo was one of the ones that didn't have the flip legs. The Catalina fixture comes with Workhorse ballast. As for the metal halide fixtures I have not owned one so I can't comment on them.

Are you sure they are the same quality though. I can't find the warranty for aqua traders but, mine came with a one year warranty on all electronics and 30 on bulbs.

its the SAME setup..Even some products on that catfish site sells some odyssea products. I am not sure how long their warranty is. But they are the EXACT same lights.
