Hey all. I actually have 2 questions here:
1) Lookin' for what to put in my 55g next. Right now there is a flame angel, true percula clownfish, black & white clownfish, yellow clown goby, chocolate chip starfish, quite a few hermits and snails. I had a pair of purple firefish but they both died the same night after a week in the tank (this when it was just the t.p. clownfish and the clown goby); I'm willing to try them again if I could find them for cheap again. Also want to get a sixline wrasse eventually. A friend of mine keeps suggesting I get a lunar wrasse, but I've read that it can be aggressive. What I'm looking for in this tank is friendly fish that stay small.
I'm not looking to get into corals or anemones right now. There are some aiptasia anemones though right now. Also some hitchhiker mini-starfish and a couple worms (thinking they might've killed the firefish?).
2) My other tank, a 20g hex from which the chocolate chip starfish and many of the hermits/snails came, is going to be my quarantine tank now. My question for you is this: what do I do with it while there's nothing in it? Do I still leave the filter, lights, and heater on in the mean time? I feel like if I just shut everything down, the "environment" in there will disappear and when I do put another fish in there, I'll just be throwing them into stagnant, seditary water that may be not be able to support him anymore.
