What on WATTS & What on Bulbs

have a 29 Gal tank that I’m setting up as a Reef tank. My question is about lighting… What is the best bang for the buck? Someone here mentioned a Single Metal Halide to me is this it? If so, I have started to do some homework on them and have found a wide range of wattage available. My next question is what wattage should I get? The tank is 18 ¾ deep (Not the biggest thing in the reef world).
Being that I want to save some money I plan to make my own light hood,

Is what I have in mind. One, Single Metal Halide bulb with 2 Super Actinic Blue Standard Fluorescent Bulbs. My question is on the wattage needs on a setup like this.
Thanks,
Andre S.

Andre, www.oceanencounter.com get the 175W MH 10,000k it comes with everything, and its the best price you will ever find. All you need to get is a reflector from www.hellolights.com get a 24" - 10" that will work fine. Thats what I am doing and it should be enough for LPS, SPS, Clams, exactly what I want to keep.
