what power head to get?

Im looking into getting a couple powerheads to put on my 55. Which brands do you find succesful, the best for the $$? Please help as I will be ordering soon!

I just bought a fluval 4 (not 404) and Im very impressed with it so far. It has a large surface area pre filter with a space for carbon pads or an "extra fine" filter. 260 gph, quiet, the head rotates 90'

Yes it is only 2" at the moment. I have a friend that is getting a pallet of sand in in the next few days, then it will be raised to 4".

I think the Maxi Jets are the best by far. They are very quiet and are no that large. They also come with a variety of attachments.

another vote for the maxi-jet 1200's - I have 2 in my 55 and they are extremely quiet. The tank has only been up since Dec., but I have had no problems with them.

my vote is definitely either maxi or aquaclear(hagen makes a couple, and only the aquaclears i will buy), in any case, i personally won't use a rio
