What powerhead should I get?

OK. I am looking into getting 2 more powerheads for my 75 Gallon FOwLR setup. The two main powerhead are hooked up to a UGF (I know, I know...) Anyway, I am looking to increase the water flow to help prevent red algae, etc... Anyway, I want something that I can submerge so that I can get better flow near the bottom of the tank. Any recommendations on make, model and size? Also, what about a "pre-filter" or whatever to keep the little snails, crabs etc from getting sucked in? Thanks a ton!
PS. I have a prism skimmer, and a Magnum canister filter moving the water a little too.

I just got 2 Mini-Jet 404's for my 72 bow front. their nice and move a good amount of water...and their cheep only $19 here in virginia.. but I kind of wish I'd gotten the 406. also they require no pre filter they come with a built in screen.

Maxi Jets kick butt. I have a 600 and a 900 in my 75 gal. aggressive and theyre great. PLus if for some reason the motor freezes they have a feature that will not let the PH heat up, so as to keep your water temp stable. They also come with a "grate" covering the intake so nothing will get sucked in. Will save you from having that ugly five inch prefilter hangin off your powerheads.

I've heard maxi-jets are the best, I just bought 2 Hagen Aquaclear 402's but they seem really bulky, does anyone know if the maxi-jet 900's are less enormous than these antiques I just bought (I can still return them). Any other excellent brand names?
Thanks
