My best friend just added 100 lb's of what he called calcium rock into his 110 with 30 pounds of fiji.. the tank was setup for about 3 months beofre adding the "calcium rock" I have not yet seen it but he said that it is covered in corraline and all his water param's are great.. Im not saying this is good or bad.. but He seemed to have success with it.. but I have never heard of "calcium rock" so research it first..

tufa is base rock from teh reef, basically lr, without the life, and IMO the most safe of any dry,
you do have to be careful of minerals and or pollutants with any other rock, and if it was in an aquarium prviously, does not mean it is safe for sw

i don't know about your lfs, but tufa can often be purchased through landscaping supplies, maybe be even cheaper there,
