Ok i've made the decision that the damsels have got to go. I'll most likely replace them with perculas but I have to get the damsels out of the tank before i do anything else. I don't want to flush them cuz they are really healthy and strong. I don't think my dad wants them in his tank eithier so what can i do? I've heard about selling them back to the dealer but thats what my dad used to do a long time ago. Will most fish stores allow u to do that? And i bought them from ***** so is that gonna work? Any other ideas?

***** (at least mine) won't buy them back, but they'll take them for you. No store credit either. Try your LFS. Good luck.

Some LFS will most likely give you at least a store credit, I would suggest calling around and asking .. that would be the fastest.

I just recently had to get rid of my bowtie damsel. He was the first fish that I had when I set up my tank. No one would give me credit but I gave him up anyway because I couldn't kill him after all the enjoyment he gave me.
It took me forever the get him out so I decided to wait until the lights was out for two hours and the fish were asleep. This made is alot easier to get him since he was half awake. Then put him in a smaller tank so the next day it will be easy to net him.

All of the LFS's in my area will give you 25-50% store credit even if you didn't buy them there. Whatever you do don't flush them, some store will at least take them for free.

I know this will not work for everybody but this is what I did with my domino and blue damsels.....after the initial cycle as I developed my 55 reef it became necessary to remove the damsels......instead of destroying them or returning them to the lfs I decided to use a old 29 gal tank as a damsel retirement center.......they are both in there together with approx 10 lbs lr/10-15 lbs ls.......2 used mechanical filters and a power head for circulation.....they sit in my indoor workshop.......both seem to likethe retirement center ......and the domino is starting to get quite large

So let's all send our retired damsels to NM reef's shelter for the less fortunate damsel fish ;)
Sign out front the tank reads as follows;
" Give me your retired and your poor mean little Damsels,
Your huddled masses yearning to swim free
The wretched refuse of your cycled tanks
Send these fish, the homeless, tempest-tost to me
I lift my net beside the golden door"
:D just kidd'n NM reef

That's also my dilemna. I do not have the heart to get rid of my initial damsels who went through the cycling... There was one yellow damsel that was very mean that I had to remove without any regret. I friend of mine took it and put it into his... triggers tank! Believe it or not but that mean yellow damsel is still alive after 2 months and was flashing at and attacking a mini clown trigger. I think he forgot that he is only a damsel but he is still alive! ;)
