Your tank is too new or too clean. They need algae...use algae sheets

Many LMB's eventualy starve....... and that is a shame being the great little guys they are....... Here is a post of mine that I have copyied and pasted many times over the last several years in order to try and help the little guys..........
I think a lot of folks have this same issue with them. I for the longest time, had issues with mine. After dropping tabs and hooking sheets to one of those little Algae sheet hangers for what seemed like ever fearing he was about to starve. Here is what seemed to eventually work for me, was hanging a wetted sheet of algae over the from center support of my tank. As the sheet softened I took parts of the sheet and mashed them between my fingers so it would flow with the currents in the tank. It also seemed to help with the snails and other critters in the distribution of food for them. In short time he started chasing and eating these bits.
Now days Benny the Blenny has a fat belly and comes up and eats pieces right out of my hand!! Good luck with mine they become wonderful fish with some time and patience....... Warren

mine is fat as a piggy.
Try different frozen foods, bloodworms, mysis, algae sheets, sinking pellets. Lots of live rock is also good because they eat of it.

dont feed meaty foods, it doesn't pass thru their digestive track optimally. I've kept them for years at a time with no problem. they usually start out not taking prepared. Some tank micro algae is often required. over time they will begin to eat every damn thing including meaty which you can do nothing about. Mine took to algae sheets with no problem and is the best prepared food for them. something like spirulina or algae based frozen or pellets would be the next alternative but most of the formula 2 and herbivore pellets and flakes still are mainly meat based with added algae.

Wow, I didn't know that so many people have trouble with these fish. Mine does eat everything as well. He absolutely loves his spirulina pellets and munches on them before they ever sink to the bottom. I have to nudge him away while I am feeding my mandarin because he will steal the mysis and brine. He even catches flake in the water column. The only thing that I hate about mine is that he is super aggessive. He bites me when I clean the tank. He has sharp little teeth too.........Brat!!!
