I have a 30 gall. tank. In it I have 6 pounds of live rock. I want to know what kind of fish I should put in it. I was thinking wrasses, clowns, or tangs. What do you think.

A tang should not be put in anything smaller than a 75 gallon tank. They require alot of swimming room.Any of the smaller fish would do quite well in that tank.Just keep the number of fish down to a minimum. This size tank, especially with only six lbs of live rock will be VERY unstable...It would be good if you could add a few lbs of rock a week till you have more like twenty lbs in there. That will add to the stability of the bio system, and help greatly in your overall water quality...

No tangs in a 30 g. Add more l/r if you can. Stick to dwarf angels, clownfish, six line wrasse, flamehawk, royal gramma, chromis, type fish. If I were stocking, I'd add a flamehawk, yellow stripe maroon clown, and bi-color angel or royal gramma. This is my preference of course. DON"T ADD THEM ALL AT ONCE! Slowly is the key, one at a time with 7-10 day intervals. I'm assuming tank is fully cycled. If you are going to add l/r, do it slowly first then add fish. Good luck.
