I just got a 50 gal tank from the paper. It came with LIFEGARD FILTERS. It's 4 big filters with an engine at the end. I have no idea how it works, and looks expensive. I was planning to use my Emperor 400 from my old tank on the new tank. Any advise

Hey for starter fish get clownfish those things are good starters. But when your tank gets cycled get triggerfish! They are awesome, plus they are extremely hardy. But if your looking for more beauty get angelfish

thanks for the post. The Lifegard system does look overkill and probably used for 100+gal tank. Would you suggest just using the Emperator 400 instead?
