What size plexi should I use?

I am making a tank for my morays. The tank will be 53"L x 28"W x 30"H and I am wondering what thickness I will need for the plexi-glass. I was thinking 1/2" but I wanted to get an expert opinion. Also where in the heck can I get plexi sheets? Home Depot, Lowes anyone know if they sell it and how much it is?? Any help would be great. Thanks!

I have found vendors of plexi glass and acrylic products on-line...just use a search engine and I bet you'll locate numerous sources. Locally I'd suggest glass repair shops or sign manufactures...either could probably provide products for your project.
As for what thickness to use....I really don't know...I've never even considered building a tank...but over in the equipment & DIY forum folks may be able to help you with your project.:thinking:
