We recently set up our 90 gallon tank. What size of powerhead should we get? Thanks for your help!

Depends on what you want to keep. What do you plan on having in the tank?
p.s.- grew up in Kettering and Centerville, what school do you teach at?

Currently we have 100 pounds of live rock, 3 green chromis, 2 firefish, and some crabs. Eventually we would like to have some bigger fish, maybe tangs or clownfish. Also some anemomes! Thanks for the help!
P.S. I teach near Huber Heights. ;)

You didnt say you wanted any corals but still figure you want at least 10x turnover, so at least 900gph(1500-1800 would be better though). There are a bunch of ways to do this:
1) a bunch of smaller powerheads like maxijet1200's. The downside is it clutters up your tank but they are pretty cheap and reliable
2)a few maxijet1200 modded. You can buy or make yourself a fairly simple modification that makes them about 10x as strong. Do a google search and you can easily find how to make or where to buy the mod kit. Alot of people seem to be favoring these at the moment but ive never used one.
3)get some larger more expensive powerheads like seio or tunze's. They are great(at least tunze are, which is what i have) but be sitting down when you price them :scared:
4)set up a closed loop. I assueme your tank isnt drilled but you could still set up a spray bar if im not mistaken. I have never used a closed looop and dont know much about them but if you do a search on here or anywhere else for "closed loop", you will find everything you need to know about them.
