What tankmates for tesselated eel?

Is there anything you can keep in the same tank as a tesseleted eel? Ive only had mine a little over a week but anything I put in there he eats right up! I threw a pinfish in there left over from a fishing trip the other day & as soon as it hit the water he was lunch! Pinfish are usually tough little guys. Any luck with triggers or puffers? Thanks in advance!

well, you just got an eel that gets to be about 8 feet, and is the most aggressive besides the green moray. Nothing you put in there will live more then a week.. a puffer will get eaten then kill your eel. The tess will eat full grown volitan lions, triggers wrasses... you name it, he will eat it. I would take it back and get a smaller eel because your Tess will get enormous... another eel that should be left in the wild... what size tank do you have and how big is it now??
