How can you really tell if live rock is really live. My live rock doesn't crap up the water but it doesn't have anything but coraline algae growing on it. <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

My LR started this way it just takes time and patience. Mine has been in my tank for a year now and I still find new things starting to grow on it all the time.

If there is alge on it then it is 'live'. Much of the life in live rock is microscopic. Be patient and you will start to see other things!

It will all come out eventually, if you still have coralina algea on it you are ok.

Look at the rock at night. You will see a lot of things that do not come out during the day.
