It looks like it could be black algae of some sort but nothing on the hitchhiker sticky looked anything like this. I can list my parameters of the tank if necessary. thanks

my guess is that on the rock is maybe a type of spounge. And on the sand could be cyno bacteria. what is your lighting schedual?

I'm just using the lights my stand/canopy came with, no upgrades yet. It looks like it could be slimy, how do you get rid of cyano?

I've noticed the light frequency in alot of the standard issue tank hoods 40watt range tend to make the red slime grow like mad. It's ugly but I havn't heard of any actual fish or invert death from this stuff. It actually converts Co2 into oxygen, :notsure: but ya it's ugly.
