What the heck is this??????

These are on the glass and pipes in my overflows ONLY. They are about 1/4 of an inch and white and surrounded by tons of pods. They are the shape of a pineapple and have a small feathery top. They don't appear to be alive or at least not moving and the feathery tops don't retract. Any ideas??????

Whew! (sigh of relief). Thanks Reefnut. I had a couple of those rare nasty isopods awhile back and I though oh no here we go again!
