What the shell?

I awoke this morning to one of my hermit crabs devouring one of my nerite snails for his shell. I guess he didn't like the selection of shells laying around my tank.

ours do that do i guess it the thrill of 'househunting' but there are shells on the bottom of ours and some on the rocks for them to choose from...noooo if it doesnt smell like fresh kill they dont want it

I guess you are right, I have plenty of shells laying around, but he wanted a fresh kill. I feed my tank lightly twice a day as I only have one Percula so I don't think he was hungry.
