what to do next?

Hello everybody. i am taking out my damsls, 2 tangs, and i am thinking about the angle. i took back some of my corals including the anem and clown. my lfs is going to hold them for me. i am doing 10 gallon water changes evry other day. and in 1-2 weeks i am going to get the new lights. i will fing out what they are called. they are VERY bright and cost $300 each im going to get 2 of them. what do i do next after all of this is done? THANKS.

Before you spend all that money on lights.. what are you getting? Very bright is too broad a term. What's the wattage? The k rating. Are the PC? VHO? Something else? I could put a street metal halide over my tank.. It's very bright but not necessarily good. It seems like your overpaying. How large is your tank? I suggest getting some VHOs or PCs.. you can get alot better deals. If you tank was pretty large I would understand the lighting expenses but you'll have to give some more info.

keep doing the water changes and don't get any other fish until you have you tank running perfectly and have had your water tested. Bright lights, never heard of those..... maybe PCS, VHO, MH....... get back when you have more info

I think they are metal hilids or VHO's. my tank is 80 gallons. i have 2 actinic 40wt bulbs and 2 florecent 40wt bubs. i am going to take out the 2 florecent lights and replce them ith the new lights. the lights hang from the canopy and give the wavy marks on the rocks like in a pool.

300 bucks each is way too much! I think you should replace your entire lighting with PC's. You could probably do it on for under 600 bucks. I wouldn't buy these expensive lights if you don't know much about them. Check out the cheap VHO's from AHsupply.com. I'm getting some reasonably priced PC's from nano-reef.com's store. Good Luck..

Thanks for all the info on the lights!but what about the tank itself? anything i am not doing already?
