What to do with tank discoloration?

hey everyone! I'm kind of a newbie to the fish world. I just got a saltwater tank last month (probably not the smartest idea since I'm still learning everything about fish upkeep) and so far everything is going great. I have some cute angelfish to look at :) Anyway, I've been noticing a slight discoloration of my tank lately. I thought it might be related to the saltwater, or maybe my cigarette smoke. I've tried cleaning the inside of it, as well as picking up electric cigarettes (i was looking around and found http://www.cigarti.com) to see if the smoke was a factor. It seems like neither of these have had an affect on my tank. Has anyone had this happen with saltwater?

What kind of discoloring- and I dont think you could smoke enough and still live to discolor a tank in the short time youve had it. LOL But I do admire you were willing to quit for the hobby!!! It may just be algae growth that makes the tank look discolored- but pics would help.

Is it yellow or brown or what?
Do you have a clean up crew(snails, crabs, shrimp, etc.)
What kind of filtration do you have?
Do you run carbon?
