good or bad bacteria?i will use the GARF method and do plexiglass shelving with hole for reef plugs.there will be NO fish and only critters(what would you suggest).why will i need rubble rock? should i get a hang on skimmer?

in my frag tank (a 55g) I have half of it dedicated to chiller, skimmer (well i have 4 and one is about 5 feet tall) calcium reactor, return pump, ph controller, heater, and some other stuff......and the other side is all frags (sps) with about a turn over rate of 40....i have a 1/2 inch sand (crushed coral) bed and live rock piled on top of it so not to much flow can get down there just enough to clean up the detrus and junk

oh and i wouldn't do the garf method, egg crate works a whole lot better...and there is really no bad bacteria that can grow there (or really in many places in your tank, inless you have a dsb)

you have to by plugs and cut plexiglass and hassle with getting more plugs and plexiglass if (when) it breaks..also inhibits flow (plexiglass in way)......using live rock rubble and eggrate gets maximum flow and the frags seem to encrust faster
