what type of lighting

does anyone know what type of lights are the ones that look like real sun in the tank? they are really bright and you can see the ripples of the water on the bottom of the tank? I'm trying to figure out what type they are and what they are called. if anyone has any clue of what i'm talking about then i would appreciate any help. thanks

thanks do you know the name of the bulb that looks like that? cause I am thinking about looking into them but without knowing what they are I don't have anywhere to begin heh thanks in advance

Metal Halide isn't just a name of a bulb, it's actually a lighting method and requires an entire lighting system to support it. You'd get a Metal Halide (MH) fixture and it could come with 1, 2, 3 or more Metal Halide bulbs in it. You can also get a MH fixture with actintics in it too, which are a blue tinted compact florescent bulb. Hope that helps.
