what type of shrimp for cycling?

cooked , uncooked....any difference on which one to use to cycle tank,.....so many posts convinced me not to add damsels to cycle.....thanks

I think most people use uncooked cocktail shrimp.
Please don't cycle with damsels, you will have a hell of a time getting them out later and it is mean to the fish.
