what waterblaster pump would be the best for the following set up for a double closed loop.
Hy5000-7000 or 10000?
both loops will run through a 4 way oceans motions wavemaker.

some more info
the return will be a Barracuda pump
the corals in the tank will be mixed but mainly softies.
would a HY10000 be too much dont want the sand to go fly all over the place?

anyone any idea on the real performance of the waterblaster pumps can give me any advise on which one would perform best for this set up??

The waterblaster pump wouldn't be my CL pump choice by any means......Why don't you call Paul and ask his recommendation since he's the builder of the OM.....

I question the use for the Water Blaster pump for a CL on a big system, for the mere fact look at the flow rates of either pump you listed.....They are puppies and you want to drive OM 4Ways..........If anything use the Water Blaster for your return pump and the Barracuda for your CL pumps.......Have you seen how they respond or drive under pressure.......

no I havent thats why I am asking
I have read some reviews about the waterblaster that they seem to move massive amounts of water but again reviews on most sites available are sales oriented so the reason of me asking here on the forums for people with real experience in those pumps.

I've read a lot of reviews, but none I've seen using them in a pressure application......Again for a CL the Reeflo would be a optimum choice. I could see you using the WaterBlaster as a return pump though.....

Personally for my CL I want as much pump as possible. You start small and as the tank grows in and matures you realize you need a bigger pump or more PH's. Something on the flow line of a Dart Gold or bigger HammerHead you can tune down at the start and as tank grows in you open the pump up.

OK am more leaning towards 2 reeflo Darts pumps
also have adjusted the plumbing of the closed loops to create a circle flow pattern
here is a drawing of the new plumbing

and they will be set up on timers as follows
6.00am - 11.00am
closed loop A ON Closed loop B OFF
11.00am - 13.00pm
closed loop A ON closed lopp ON
13.00pm - 18.00pm
closed loop A OFF closed loop B ON
18.00pm - 20.00pm
closed loop A ON closed loop B ON
from 20.00pm - 6.00am
both closed loops OFF only return pump (streaming in from top of Tank)
looking like this

I like your idea and thinking on the matter of alternating between CL....Actually I had discussed something identical with Paul from OM.......The only other idea we had come up with instead of completely shutting down the CL system and possible issue with water being stagnant inside the plumbing, was to plumb a smaller pump into each CL and during it's down time (as far as the big pump) the little pump would actually be fired and would run the CL and a majorly reduced rate....Basically just moving water through the plumbing.....
Really no idea if there would be a problem with water being or becoming stagnant, but it was a major point brought up on the matter. I think your plan would work though......

the drawings with the added return line
driven by a reeflo barracuda
not sure if I want to connect it to a 2 way OM??

A 2Way which would be an OM Squirt, and they aren't designed to handle the flow the Barracuda can put out......Even with the bypass installed I think max flow is 2500gph......The OM is designed for roughly 1000gph.
