Anyone see the trailer or promos for "disney's"earth documentary? They're essentially taking Planet earths footage , using a new narrator and packaging up in disney form and putting it in theaters. I thought it was odd since the footage in the commercials i saw i also so in the planet earth documentaries. http://earthfirst.com/disneys-stunni...iler-giveaway/

Disney's "Earth" and Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" were done by the same people- it's a partnership between Disney and the BBC. No one is stealing anything- Planet Earth did extremely well on TV, but it wasn't released in theaters. You could look at "Earth" as a sequel of "Planet Earth"- are you still mad at Disney for making a sequel to a hugely popular show that they were involved in producing?

it's only the trailer that is the same, i believe this story has more footage that was not in the tv shows.
but this is actually pretty good idea... how many people don't have HDTV on their cable?

Yeah but they are very entertaining and I can watch them with my daughter in the future and not worry about the programming.
Sounds like a jealousy issue -- if you can do better... than do it

If only you knew my wife. I don't get it I really don't but she loves them... They make their money...
Seriously, you should be happy this isn't a stupid sequel.
The BBC shelled out millions of bucks, I'm sure, filming the footage. They have thousands and thousands of hours of footage. Why not take other footage and produce something else.
Seriously I'd actually pay to see the great white footage on the big screen.
Plus I'm sure disney is going to get some great PR with a politically correct "green" movie.
