I was just wondering, what would be the "perfect" equipment for use on a standard 10 gallon tank?? Lighting, filtering, current, skimmer or combo, etc...??

It all depends on how much money that you want to spend. I think you could go without a skimmer, and just do weekly water changes...As for lighting I would go with 2 36 watt retro kit or either a 96 watt quad. Get as much live rock as possible. Have fun...

It really depends on what you would want to keep in the tank, but for a nano you always want to get a decent amount of LR. The rock will be your main source of filteration. I would also look into a sump or fuge or both!

yeah and a nice dosing/top off system to keep the water as stable as possible, and myabe a CPR pak-bak skimmer and some really cool corals!

I recently upgraded my 5 gallon nano to a 10 gallon. I am using a penguin mini filter on one side of tank (filter and adds gentle current to that side) and a custom made hang on back refugium on the other side (adds filtration and current).
I do not need powerheads with the current these two provide, and for lighting i purchased a CSL 20 inch w/moonlight. This light offers 81 total watts, one 40 watt actinic, one 40 watt 10k and 1 watt moonlight. seperate cords/switches and a built in fan.
I am growing LPS , SPS, Zoo's, Shrooms, and leathers. I have 2 small fish and a cleaner shrimp. Hope this helps!
