What would you pay.

I myself (as I am sure most of you out there do also) find a great amount of enjoyment in setting up and cleaning my tank. Doing water changes and so on and so forth.
What my question is though if you didnt love it so much or if you didnt have the time and had the cash about, what would you pay for someone to come into your home and setup aquariums and do all the work except for daily maintenance so you could enjoy the hobby without all the "hassels"?
Please say what size tanks and also fresh/marine.

That is a tuff one for me, cuase one of the main things i enjoy about this hobby is the 'work' that is involved.... my wife teases me- says i look like a kid with a chemistry set when i am tseting water. :)
are you looking at doing this as a busines? becuase that would be different i think... i don't think i coudl do that for a living- it would drive me crazy cuase you can't control what happens to the tank except when you are there!

I have just started a business just like that. It all depends on the size tank and also what they want to have in the tank. There are alot of variables in how much to charge. Are you going to buyy the lr, fish, corals, etc through me. Or are you going to buy them some place else if bought through me I would cut a better deal. But say I set up the tank that is a straight fee of $1.25 a gallon for salt water and $0.80 a gallon for fresh water. Monthly cleaning is the same except when bulbs need to be changed or pumps go down those are aditional costs plus there are other hidden cost. For a cleaning business it is easier and mor cost effective to have clients have fresh water tanks. If you want the salt water aquariums be prepared to pay the price. There is also a minnumum fee for cleaning and setting up because we will not come to just set up a 10 0r 20 gallon tank for $8 - $22.50 minimume cost if $40.00 Hth

The fun is how you maintain your tank and how well you are doing with maintenance to achive your goals. So there is always atleast 20 min you can use to take care of the tank instead of hiring someone to take care of it for you. If you can't maintain by your self then it's not worth as a hobby.
