I have about 60 lbs of Marshall Island live rock in my 46 Bow. I liked it better than the local Fiji liverock because it had nicer shapes and more holes.

The box of premium fiji rock I ordered at my LFS came in with a ton of purple corralline and some sponges, but not very many "critters" i guess. although i saw a few pods here and there. i havent used anything but fiji so i cant comment on any of the others!

Do you guys have pics of your rock? I have marshall island, tonga, and fiji in my tank but I cant say that I have even seen any of the other kinds.

I agree..the FL aquacultured rock is probably the best . On my list to get about 20LBS to add to my tank.

If you go to the picture section of my website ( http://www.geocities.com/roundbayreef) you can see some pic's of my Fla. Aquacultered LR. I highly endorse it!!! On mine I have found 2 Chitons, 1 Limpit, several types of Sponges, some Feather Dusters, a Tunicate, some Porites Coral and something that nobody can indentify. I find new stuff in my tank everyday! I bought mine at my LFS ) at the Aquarium Center in Baltimore Good luck!

Draxx, wow, cool pics of the aquacultured. makes me want to order some. how dense is it? i know the rock off florida is pretty dense, but i guess this doesn't have to be since they actually choose the rock they add to the water. please email me the site you got yours from, im pretty sure i know who you got it from but... kristopherjhoffman@hotmail.com THANKS!
to answer the question of the thread, A MIX! I love the diversity by getting as many as possible. I have Tonga, Fuji and Vanisi (basically Marshall rock, as near as i can figure, someone correct me if they know better, i'd actually love to know where it is from). I want to add more from other places too.
I don't think there is any one place that has the "best" LR, it all still depends on how well it gets shipped and the specific rocks that are chosen, and also on the pre-curing that is done. I don't look for a specific kind of LR, i just look for the best looking pieces i can find, regardless of the type. although, i do have to say i am NOT a fan of tonga branch (just don't like antlers in my tank, hehe ;))

yeah, tonga is the other guess. i did get it from jeff, so it must be from tonga, huh? i saw your tank update post, james, looking good. your vanisi didn't have a lot of die off? mine has SO much die off. maybe my boxes sat around in their store longer than yours.
