What's happening to my leather?

My leather umbrella has not exposed his polyps for around 2 - 3 weeks now and I read that that was normal. Well nothing has changed except for he is now exhibiting dark "red" or "brown" spots that are aroung 1/2 in in diameter. There are around three of them that have shown up over the last two days or so.

wouldnt know without a picture, even then, i'd probally still not know... just being honest.
i have a toad stool, 2 different finger leathers, and another unknown leather, and a green finger leather, and every once in awhile they will also close down and change color, then after a few days they'll sprout back open vibrant full of polyps.
dunno if they do that naturally that often, or maybe my water paramaters fluctuate, but i dont think they do.
