Airlines are taking fees too freaking far!!!
$2 for non alcoholic beverages... $10 to $100 to get your luggage checked... $10 to $25 to talk to a live person while checking in or purchasing tickets... an extra fee for "Airport Upgrades"... $20 to $50 for aisle or window seats... and on top of that a 5 to 10% rate hike...
freakin ridiculous!!!

I know...I'm flying home on Thursday and it was so expensive with the fuel prices...cost twice as much as usual. I think United is the only airline charging for checked bags...I hope? I fly American.

United is actually one that doesnt charge you for the first bag... its $25 for a second bag... American is going to start these fees in the summer some time... Delta has already started it...

parachutes: $50.
life raft tickets: $35.
oxygen masks: $10.
willing to jump off a plane without a parachute, or willing to swim to shore, or holding your breath to save money: priceless.

$1.00 to close or open the window blind... .50 to use the tray table... $10 per carry on item that fits under the seat in front of you... $20 if you have to use the over head compartment... a $100 fine for not taking the saftey card out of the pocket located in front of you and not following along with the preflight saftey demonstration...

American confirmed they are starting the $15 fee this week. Great! Has to be the week where I fly four times....
They also have a new pass that allows you to bypass lines.

American is justifying their $15 first bag fee by saying, "Who else can you get to transport a 50 lb. item across the country for $15?" Uh, since the beginning of commercial flights, taking a passenger's luggage was part of the ticket price. Not anymore. Sorry to say, this will kill the sporting vacations (golf, snow skiing, etc.) I looked up what it will cost me to take a ski trip to Lake Tahoe for four people. I normally carry - one large bag to hold four person's daily wear, two bags to carry ski clothes (ski jackets, ski bibs, thermals, gloves, hats, etc), two bags for ski boots, and one ski tube that holds two sets of skis. Going with American's charges, $15 x 4 (first checked bag for each person) + $25 (one extra checked bag) + $150 (price for taking oversized ski container) = $235 One Way x 2 = $470. Wonder if they'll let me just stick it all in the extra seat I'm obviously paying for so I don't have to wait for it at the luggage pick-up (or better yet, having it lost or damaged).

Well since they are cutting flights back. They will move the seats closer together and charge you for being to tall.Like the fat people that had to buy the 2nd seat.

Has anyone seen the commercial where the guy on the plane runs out of quarters and the kid is like, "Is this your first time flying?"

Actually, you are absolutely correct. Sure makes it easier to travel. Just a shame I have to leave my boots I've had for 15 years (those babies fit me like a glove), and a pair of skis I've only had for two years that were setup specifically for me, sitting at home. Just to end up using some second-hand bottom-line rentals, only because the airline now wants to charge me for what they use to take for free.

right, but what mess me up was when a person was big, fit in one seat (tight squeeze) but they were forcing them to buy the second seat, even though a passenger could fit in that seat next to them.
