Ok so my tank has finally finishd the cycled about 2 weeks ago. So what do i do next? I currently have a lionfish, dragon wrasse, one surviving damsel and a star fish, along with 7 or 8 snails and only about 20 lbs of live rock.
The tank is a 55g with a cascade 1200 filter, Aquaclear 70 powerhead and i just recently turned on my UV sterilizer (not sure the brand) I have about 20 lbs of live rock. My pH has be around 8.2-8.3 for the past month and all my other levels are 0 and have been that way since the end of the cycle.
I'm noy looking to rush the tank but would like to make it a little nicer and try to keep it clean. The bottom of the tank this redish alge keeps growing and i cant get it to stop. Any suggestions?
PS This is my first sw tank so please be easy.

looks like your off to a good start. Tangs get too big for a 55 gal. What kind of Lion do you have.??
You could use some more rock in there. Look into getting some dry base rock to fill it in some. google key largo rock, its nice.
Looks like you could use some more circulation-another power head.

If the red alge has a gummy texture to it put some marison in the tank it will clear it up in a few days. One of my old tanks grew that alge it called ciatic? alge or something like that but marison clears it up within a few days.
