:help: I have a 25 gal. tank and everything is going awesome! I have only had one casualty, a cleaner shrimp. I woke up one morning and he was gone. The good news is I have 2 clowns, 2 damsels, and three hermit craps as a clean up crew. I have had all these inhabitants from day one. Now for the bad news 2 organisms have appeared and I have no clue and nor does my pet store as to what they are. Specimen 1- white, cottony, cylindrical, attached to live rock, prefers shady areas, opening at one end surrounded by hairlike sifters, largest is 1 1/2 inches and smallest is 1/8 of an inch. Specimen 2- deep purple, grows like algae, on tip of a rock frag, has cylindrical trasluscent openings(3), openings remind me of jelly fish. What are these and are they harmful to my reef

Harmless filter feeders, they normally show up in sumps and wet/drys, internal overflows and such like liverock. If they ever show up on the glass you can just knock them off. They don't hurt a single thing.

I noticed on my LR that there is something on there that looks like a tiny polyp. It is about tall as a dime, when the dime is standing upright not on its side facing tail or heads up. Sorry about the wierd analogy, was 2 lazy to get a ruler.:D Anyway, is this possible or is it just some detritus junk. Or could it be a aiptasia? I can't take a pic for 2 reasons
1) I don't know how(I already read the sticky on photography, they might as well be speaking japenese!)
2) It is too small to take a pic
thanx
BTW when I turn off the PH it still sways. Is the current still going on or is it moving? Will aiptasia stink? Last question, There is also this brown-red branch stuff, 1-2 inches, on my LR what is it?
Sorry for all the questions:) :D  :notsure: :help:

Exactly what Thomas said. Also I seen a few blooms in my main tank and then they are gone. I have an angel so that may have something to do with it. Even with them gone in the main tank, I still see them in the filters and skimmer. :D

I think I have those too, and they are harmless filter feeders also. Dont have the name, never knew it. The purple you are seeing, could that just be the coraline algea underneath? That is how mine look. HTH.
