What's the best salt mix?

I'm setting up a new tank and don't want to have avoidable regrets.
What salt mix would you recommend using to start up a reef tank?

imo, whatever is cheapest. something like instant ocean. not much can go wrong. its not like choosing live sand over crushed coral or something detrimental like that.

tropic marine, tropic marine pro reef if you have cal reactors, there very pricey, i pay 80.00 for a bucket (150 gallon mix), then the one i also use is reef crystals, and instant ocean (40.00 dollars for a 200 gallon box mix) also i use all three of these on certain reef tanks i have, i try to give the best to the SPS, i use the reef crystals and the instant ocean to see results, i love to do my own experiments to see different growth, heath, etc, just learning with what i want to use in near future when i get new home with my 1 ultimate reef tank, somewhere around 2000 to 20,000 gallons, lol.

I think that statement may be backwards

hey I started for 16 months with IO then switched to Reef Crystals. The -- mix I don't have to add near as much calcium and buffer.

I use Instant Ocean Reef Crystals. I also use B-Ionic to maintain calcium/alkalinity.
Be wary any salt reviews that you read online. Many of them look really scientific with charts full of lovely data, but are in fact funded by competitor salt companies.
