They will eventually go away on their own if you do not use tapwater to do topoffs or water changes.
However, I bought five mexican turbo snails for a 55 gallon and they cleared up all of my diatoms in 2-3 days. Regardless of what the rumor is, they ate the diatoms off of the sandbed as well. (my snails are very frequently on the sand).

Like said they will go away on there own as long as your not introducing phosphates into your tank. Or a cleanup crew will help with them.

Let them go away on their own. Just a couple of weeks. If you dont like looking at them on the glass you can gently scrub them off with a mag float.
I dont know how you do it but I cant get turbos to eat diatoms.

Me either they just wont do anything. Though one of them did eat it off my powerhead they just wont bother it on the rocks. They wont eat that algea but they will put away a full algea sheet in about an hour.
I dont know clarki if you figure out how will you tell me?
