Whats the deal with my clown n anemone?

Well I picked up a small GBTA with a false percula that was hosting it at the fish store a few days ago. First day I put them both in my tank the clown didnt go near it. But he finally looks interested in it. He will go in for a few mins and rub around in it like he is hosting it but then leaves it and just swims around the tank for awhile. Then he will go back in for a few then leave. Anyone had this happen? Maybe the anemone is to small for him or something? Any ideas?

Pic of anemone under actinic. seems as if the bulbs get bigger when just the actinics r on.

It looks healthy
IMO the GBTA needs some time to acclimate to your tank chemistry but the clown looks a little bit too big for the anemone IMO

The anemone and the behavior of the clownfish seem pretty normal to me. I don't see anything to worry about.

Okay thanx. But evenually when a clown does host a anemone, do they stay in it all the time? Or do they do what my clown is doing? I just thought it was alittle odd becuz when they were both at the LFS he wouldnt leave the BTA for anything.

my clown and my bta have been doing the same thing as your for the last 4 months when I got them both. So I would say it's normal. In a semi unrelated question what type of lights do you have on your tank? I think I need to upgrade mine.

260 watts of PC about 7 inches under the light. I put him where I thought he would like it best to prevent to much wandering around. He hasnt moved from the spot since and seems happy.

Mine is a serious wanderer! I have him under the same wattage and he has moved to lower ground under more current. all my anemones seem to congrate on the left side of my tank. What size is your tank? I have mine in a 75 gal.

i have a tomato clown that ive had for about 2 years now and when i got a RBTA about 8 months ago i thought he was trying to eat it. within 10 seconds of putting the RBTA in the tank he was bitting it and swimming into it.
now the anemone split into 2 about 5 months ago and he splits his time swimming back and forth between the two not speniding a large amount of time in it but just in and out throughout the day time. when i turn the lights out he buries himself in one of them and spends the night there its really cool
i dunno but too me the pic with the anemones i just seen look dull or bleached is that how they always looked??
