whats the deal?!?

so, got a bubble tip anemone the first of july i believe. had it for three days and placed it in a moderately flowed area. so this morning i wake up, and the anemone is nice, and plump. 3 hours goes by and it looks a bit deflated and smaller. its nice and green with purple tip tho. and it is attached. and i have a 400 watt metal halide on a 58 gallon. it hasnt opened up full yet either. in the LFS it was under some vho's, so is it getting used to the tank/lights?

any suggestions? shoud i just wait and see?

it is quite normal for them to inflate and deflate and I'm not sure if nem's get lightshock if they dont like where they are they move

thanks for the quick replys. the anemone is at the bottom of the tank right now, so its getting the least amount of light. i think it has moved and inch or so just to get its footing right, but hasnt really moved elsewhere. its against the glass now, so could that be the reason it cant fully open, since the glass is in its way?

they do take some time to settle in and get used to there surroundings
and a new nem make sure all your powerheads are covered with a sponge or screen so it dont become anemone soup if it decides to roam

yea, i know. im already looking for some screens/sponges for my sieos. since i really had no place to put my anemone when i got it, and couldnt really make him 'fit in' with a natural look, i think i might redo my rockwork in a couple of days to accomidate him and my other corals. would that be a smart idea?

When I aclimated mine I put 7 layers of screen over the top and each day or two I would remove a layer he was doing the same thing yours is after all the screen was removed he was fine going from lfs pc,s to halides is a big jump but now mine looks great goodluck ,

thanks, and i now do believe it is light shock, since it seems the anemone opens more at night. lol. so i will be lowering my lights schedule and slowly raising it up again. thanks everyone!
