What is the difference Between a RO system and A RO/DI system?? I know what RO means but what is the DI and what does it do????

DI= DeIonization. Basically it's a cylindar filled with resin beads that pull more things out of the water that the RO wouldn't. The RO or DI alone won't get everything, but if you run them together you get as close to pure water as possible.

Though, a DI will suffice if you are in a low TDS zone. DI cartridges mainly remove leftover phosphates from the RO membranes letting them through. Great thing to have.

+1,
Beware though that a DI only system can get so insanely expensive to maintain - because the media is very expensive and goes much quicker when the water isn't treated first with RO - that it can quickly become more economical to just get the RO system.
I'd never have an RO system without a DI. Like snake said, the phosphate removal is well worth it. Trying to control phosphates once they enter the system is much more difficult.
