whats the odds of two diff trigger species hooking up?

my pink tail and my niger trig seem like they are doing mating ritual stuff , u know like lip locking and cichlid like breeding bahavior is it possible for them to mate or even just pair off?

VERY doubtful its actually mating related, and that goes double between two different species that dont even look similar, and are from different families to boot (Odonus and Melichthys). Most likely territorial aggression or just "playing". Besides, triggers probably only mate at their adult sizes of 10"-12".
