No, it looks like it is dying. looks like it has necrosis.

well, it's a pretty blue death if that's what it is.
Could it be sponge?

doesnt look like necrosis to me...

it has a bunch of poylps that extend out during the day almost like xenia. and its fleshy to the touch, its the only coral that its growing on and that acro has been in the tank for sometime now

well, if it is a sponge, it will eventually kill your coral if it continues to grow up it.

My advise is to frag the coral above the overlapped growth and try and save it before you lose that whole piece.
